Future Zero Carbon Footprint Creche
The photos show a local crèche in the community we work- maphephetaini.
It is a sad story that needs a good ending.
The mud hut used to house around 22 preschoolers daily offering extremely basic education with a massive shortage of money,
electricity or even water. The crèche was closed 3 years ago due to a lack of funding. The photos show the children that used to attend the crèche before it was closed. The past 3 years have been spent sitting at home- education less.
As this is a very remote part of the valley of a thousand hills- literally an hour quad bike trip up mountains, water and electricity are not present.
We have a strong desire to rebuild this crèche along the same lines as our ZP-100 home.
Zero carbon crèche
The new crèche will resemble the children’s homes we are building and will have its own wind turbine and solar panels. We will employ a local bilingual Zulu teacher and also have long term volunteers from the overseas to assist in the teaching of these young Zulu children- teaching them both Zulu and English from a young age setting them up for life.
The volunteers will get to work each day via speed boat and a quad bike drive up the mountains.
The land has already been located, a prime area of beautiful rolling green hills at the very top of the valley of a thousand hills!
We can build this crèche in just 4 weeks as soon as the necessary funding has been raised.
Just £29,000 will complete the entire project! This will radically change the lives of many children.
We are open for twinning this project with one overseas.
