Future Developments
The points listed below present an outline of the programmes we are comitted to within Project O. Some of these items have already come to fruition and others are in development:
- Build self-sufficient children’s homes for the most needy children infected and affected by AIDS. Homes to be managed by a House Mother with care of 6 children. Each single storey home to contain 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, lounge and in keeping with African tradition a thatched roof. All facilities, water, drainage, electricity to be included.
- Recruitment and Training Homestead Mothers
Two House Mothers to be provided for each homestead. Provision of free accommodation, food etc. with basic salary and training for each House Mother over a period of six months. - Sponsorship of orphans in homesteads
The provision of food, clothes including full new school uniform, 100% school fees, and basic medical care for each child. - Sponsorship of orphans in extended families
Some orphans are able to remain within the extended family which offers a limited measure of safety and encouragement, but these families often lack the financial means to support the child. Sponsorship of these orphans provides the same package of care (food provision and delivery/clothes/school tuition fees). - Promotion and Publicity of Project O
Substantial financial resources are required to enable Project O to build and sustain the homesteads and support the orphans. Considerable promotion and publicity of Project O is being undertaken and will continue to be carried out in order to raise awareness of the plight of the orphans, and raise funds for the project. The promotional activity being undertaken includes the mass production of Project O DVD; T shirts; sponsorship packages; leaflets; awareness raising events e.g. sky-diving. - Establish formal office and recruitment and training of additional staff
Establish fully equipped office with computer equipment, photocopier, communications equipment etc, with recruitment of additional staff. - Self-sufficiency initiatives
- Purchase of sheep, cows and pigs for animal rearing, husbandry and food.
- Purchase of vegetable tents for propagation of high quality crops.
- Training and capacity building for arts and crafts, e.g. beadwork; weaving; pottery.
- Water slide amusement feature: 100m long water slide: built as an income generating facility with potential of raising £60 - £100 per day.
Bike Club
Bike club is run every Saturday in Maphephetaini - a rural part of the Valley of a thousand hills. Many of us take for granted much of our upbringing and the things that are readily available to us. Bikes are just another one of those things out of reach for the average child living in these remote rural communities- Until NOW!
Now the children of these communities can get to experience what fun it can be to ride a brand new bike.
We have a different group of kids each week so all the kids in the community get to benefit.
They go for rides with our staff members then go back to the chief’s compound where they teach life lessons, life skills, moral and value education etc.
The club also promotes;
- Friendship
- Teamwork
- Fitness
- Hope
We currently have 30 top class mountain bikes.
We plan on making that up to a hundred within the next 2 years or so and it should get the attention of the national media. It has already features in 4 national sports magazines in South Africa.
This initiative has been made possible by the following organisations;
- Group 5
- Sean’s power cycles
- action pad print

Our school will be a comfortable, clean building with fresh bright classrooms set in an attractive, adventurous, safe external place to relax, learn and play. A place where aspirations can be achieved in a non-threatening environment and children can develop spiritually, morally, culturally, socially, intellectually, physically and aesthetically leaving our school as well-rounded, responsible citizens with the skills and confidence to be successful in their future endeavors.
It is our intention to ensure that teachers demonstrate their Christian commitment through examples, in their relationships with one another, their care for the pupils and the quality of commitment they show in their work.

My future is secure and my presence makes sense.
I have purpose and potential.
My steps are in order; I am destined by God himself to succeed!
I do not need popularity.
My position is already secure!
